Rep. McGaugh Votes No on Education Bill

The Missouri House of Representatives recently passed a wide-ranging education bill by a narrow 82-69 margin. It expands the access to private schooling, expands charter schools to Boone County, and boosts minimum teacher salaries. Representative Peggy McGaugh of Carrollton was among the no votes.

McGaugh says the main issue was the size of the bill.

Many school districts across the state have voiced concerns about the financial cost of the bill. It still requires Governor Mike Parson’s signature.
