The former Novelty Feed and Seed manager accused of stealing has been arraigned.
Michael D. Combs of Atlanta is charged with one count of theft/stealing more than $25,000, a class B felony. Knox County Prosecutor David Brown says Combs was arraigned in Edina and pleaded not guilty.
Combs worked as manager of Novelty Feed and Seed from November 2007 to August 2009. A probable cause statement from Missouri Highway Patrol Corporal Kenneth Schulte ... says Combs used business funds to purchase personal items, while he was manager. The probable cause statement alleges that Combs purchased diesel fuel using business funds, and that he took unauthorized loans and stole cash from the business. Combs also allegedly used business products and traded them for reduction of personal expenses he owed people for services.
The probable cause statement also alleges that Combs bought a tractor for the business in 2008, and that in April 2009 he traded that tractor for a different tractor and kept it as his own.
Brown tells Superstation KRES victims attended the arraignment. Combs' next court appearance is scheduled for August 24.
