The 5'9'' point guard graduated from Westran High School in 2008, and wound up at Labette Community College in Kansas for one year. She spent last season at Moberly Area Community College, where she led the Lady Greyhounds in assists, steals, three-point percentage, and free throw percentage. She then signed a letter of intent with NCAA Division I school Western Carolina in April, but has now decided Columbia College of the NAIA is a better fit.

Columbia College went 28-6 last season, and reached the NAIA national tournament. A key nucleus, led by local stars like Whitney Davis and Rachel Oswald from Boonville and Whitney Widaman of Mexico, has graduated from that team. Rice will join fellow KRES All-Stars Ashley Fisher of Harrisburg, and Heather English of Boonville, to help get Davis' team back in the national rankings...
