"Flossie's Surprise Casserole"
2 packages chicken-flavor Ramen noodles, cooked and drained
1 pound ground venison, cooked and drained
1 small can Campbell's cheddar cheese soup
1 package mild taco seasoning
1 package mild chili seasoning
1 small jar salsa, if you want to (can be mild, medium, or hot according to your taste)
Mix all the ingredients together in medium size pan or large mixing bowl. Serve hot.
Makes 6 servings.
This is like hamburger helper with deer meat, but you can use any ground meat.
"Friendship Cake"
(first part) there will three parts
3/4 cup of drained can peaches (cut into little pieces)
3/4 cup of drained crushed pineapple
6 maraschino cherries, cut in half
add 1 and 1/2 cup sugar and one package of active dry yeast
Combine all this in a gallon size jar. Cover and leave at room temperature, stir it two times the first day, then stir once a day for 2 weeks. At the end of 2 weeks, will start with a 30-day mix.(to be continued)
(second part)
At end of two weeks, strain the original starter (should come up with 1 and 1/2 cups, of the strained juice). Put in a gallon jar, add 1 16-oz can peach halves with the juice, add 2 and 1/2 cups sugar, put a loose lid on it and leave at room temperature for 10 days and stir once a day, add a 16 oz can of pineapple chunks with the juice and 2 and 1/2 cups of sugar, stir that once a day for 10 more days, then add 2 9-oz jars of maraschino cherries that are drained into the juice and stir that for 10 more days (this is the end of 30 days)
drain the fruit and reserve all the juices, chop the fruit into small pieces and chop the cherries in half, divide the fruit into 3 equal parts, and that is what you will add to the cake recipe (this is the original starter-should make 4-to-5 starters)
(third part-cake)-this makes one cake
1 plain yellow cake mix (don't super moist or pudding)
add 1 small package of instant vanilla pudding mix
2/3 cups oil
4 eggs
and one part of the fruit mix (above)
can add nuts (optional)
Mix all the dry ingredients, then add your oil and eggs and beat at a slow speed until well blended, by hand-stir in the fruit and nuts. Bake in a well-greased and floured bundt pan for 55 minutes to 1 hour at 325 degrees. Cool and can add icing.
(icing recipe)
1 8-oz package cream cheese
1 box (16oz) powdered sugar
1/2 cup margarine (or butter)
1 tsp vanilla
Combine all the ingredients and this will frost 2-to-3 cakes...(this will freeze well)
