Most of the top players in American Midwest Conference women's basketball are from our area. After leading her William Woods team to the regular season and postseason tournament championships, Rachel Baker of Mexico was named first team all-conference. Last year, she was the AMC player of the year. This year, the honor goes to Rachel Oswald of Columbia College. The Boonville native was a three-time AMC Player of the Week honoree and led the Cougars in scoring (14.5 PPG) and rebounds (9.3 RPG) during the regular season. Her teammate, Whitney Widaman of Mexico was also named first team all-AMC, along with Moberly native Ashley Agee of Moberly. Agee led McKendree in scoring with 14.2 points/ game this season and also surpassed the 1,000 career point milestone earlier this season. Her coach, Melissa Ringhausen of McKendree, earned the nod as the AMC Women's Basketball Coach of the Year.
