"Grandmas Pumpkin Dream Pie"

1 pie crust, baked
1 small box vanilla instant pudding
2/3rds cup of milk
1 can pumpkin
1 1/2 to 2 cups of Cool Whip
1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice

Mix the first 3 ingredients together; fold in the rest of the ingredients; put mixture in an already baked pie crust; and chill 2 hours before serving.

3 tbsp of veg. oil
1/3 cup of popcorn kernels
3 tbsp sugar
Listener puts in a Stir Crazy Popper.....(if doing on stove top) use a heavy 6 qt pan, put in oil and just 3 kernels, when those kernels start to pop, add remaining kernels and sugar, (medium heat) shake continously

caller looking for a Fruit Cake recipe

"Orange Slice Cake"

Sift together, 3 and 1/2 cups of flour and 1/2 tsp of salt and set aside.
Combine 1 one-lb bag of candied orange slices, cut up in bite size pieces and mix into 1/2 cup of the flour mixture (so they won't stick together).
8 oz of chopped dates (if you chop your own, put into flour with candy pieces)
2 cups of walnuts, chopped
1 small can of coconut
gradually add 2 cups of sugar, to 1 cup of butter, mix together
add 4 eggs
combine a tsp of baking soda, 1/2 cup of buttermilk, mix together
add to the sugar, butter and egg mixture
add that to the remaining flour mixture
blend well (It makes a heavy dough.)
add all the candied mixtures
pour into a well greased/floured angel food cake pan
bake at 325, for 1 hr and 45 min
as soon as you take out of the oven, mix 1 cup of orange juice with 2 cups of powdered sugar (or use substitute alternative below),
pour that over the hot cake
put in refrigerator overnight, in the pan
take out the next morning

(substitute) 1/3 cup of orange juice and 2/3 cups of brandy or rum

"Charleston Coconut Pie"

4 eggs beaten
1/2 cup flour
1 1/3 cup of sugar
1 half stick of butter or margarine melted
2 cups of milk
tsp of vanilla
1 8 oz can of flaked coconut

beat all the ingredients together, pour in a greased 10 inch pie plate, bake 350 for 45 minutes....pie will make its own crust (coconut).....let it cool
