A man from South Carolina faces drug charges in Cooper County after being pulled over on Interstate 70 by the Missouri Highway Patrol. Troopers say when 64-year-old Gary Pinson of Rock Hill, South Carolina was stopped for a traffic violation, they reportedly found over 100 pounds of marijuana in his car. At first, Pinson refused the Patrol's request to search his car. A canine unit was called to the scene and gave a positive indication there were drugs in the vehicle. Troopers say the pot was allegedly found concealed inside the trunk and rear seat of the vehicle. Pinson is charged with first degree drug trafficking and was taken to the Cooper County Jail in Boonville.
