The Meadville Eagles have left the CLAA to take part in the Tri-County conference beginning this school year. Meadville Athletic Director Darren Smith says there are several reasons the school made the switch.

Smith is also the Eagle basketball coach. His team has had several Tri-County teams on their schedule in recent years, but Smith says there will be more at stake with a conference title on the line.

Meadville's first chance for a Tri-County conference title will be this fall on the softball diamond. Play opens August 25th at the Linn County Tournament.
