PIKE COUNTY JAIL ESCAPE UPDATE



According to the Pike County Sheriff's office, three inmates that had escaped from the county jail have been arrested and are in custody in Oklahoma. 22 year-old Jacob A. Darnell, 25 year-old Jason A. Darnell, and 27 year-old Emanual G. Chatman, all of Louisiana, were taken into custody around 2am in Midwest City, OK.

According to the Sheriff's Office a complaint was called into the local police that the three were asking for money near a convenience store. They were found in a 2003 black Chevy pickup and a police K-9 search located a meth pipe on one of the three escapees.

The search continues for 40 year-old William John Thomas Wilkerson, Jr of Florissant, and 49 year-old Joseph A. Verive, formerly of Elsberry.

A 1999 Ford Ranger was reported stolen over night Saturday from Lake Shore Dr. in Bowling Green.  The Vehicle is described as a standard cab, short bed, orangesh yellow in color with a single ladder rack mounted on the left side and a Mizzou sticker on the back glass.

The Pike County Sheriff's office in Bowling Green had reported that five inmates escaped from the county jail late Saturday night.

According to the report the five escaped after they were able to remove a tamper resistant shower controller and gain access to a service area and exited the facility. The jail was completed in 1994 and the shower controls were original.  A complete inspection of the pods had been completed on the afternoon of September 7th and no damage was detected at that time.
