HARRISBURG BANK ROBBERY UPDATE

While Boone County Sheriff's deputies continue their search for a Harrisburg bank robber, there have been two new developments in the case.

The Commercial Trust Company on West Sexton in Harrisburg was robbed Monday morning, and the black female suspect escaped with an undetermined amount of money. Boone County Sheriff's Detective Tom O'Sullivan is asking anyone who was near the Harrisburg car wash around the time of Monday's 11 o'clock robbery to contact deputies at (573) 875-1111. That car wash is on Highway 124, about a quarter mile west of the bank:

Authorities had publicly stated the suspect escaped Monday in a silver Kia van, but O'Sullivan says they've located the van and have determined its owner was not involved in the bank robbery:

There were no injuries in the incident. Detective O'Sullivan says the suspect entered the bank and displayed a note indicating she had a weapon, then demanded cash. The woman was seen running north from the bank. The Sheriff's Department has released surveillance video of the suspect.
