Representative Wyatt filed House Resolution 333 in January, and it never made it out of the Judiciary Committee. Wyatt's resolution accused Steele of perjury, saying he lied to a federal judge in a case involving Heartland Christian Academy in 2004. It also alleged that the Judge had an extramarital affair and that Judge Steele committed witness tampering by allegedly threatening a member of the Missouri Bar. Judge Steele described the resolution as a political attack, and "poltics at its worst".
Judge Steele's Second Judicial Circuit includes Adair, Knox and Lewis Counties.
