KIDNAPPED MACON GIRL FOUND UNHARMED IN COLUMBIA



A Columbia man who did not return his four-year-old biological daughter to her mother in Macon on Monday is now in police custody, and the girl is safe.

Macon County Sheriff Robert Dawson tells GoodRadio 26-year-old Joshua Lambert was arrested on a warrant for parental kidnapping Wednesday morning. Dawson says Columbia Police made the arrest....

Dawson says Lambert was seen with his child in Columbia on Monday, and most recently on Tuesday afternoon. For a time, investigators thought Lambert might take the girl to Texas or Louisiana, where he has local ties.

Sheriff Dawson says he attempted to issue an Amber Alert Tuesday, but the Missouri Highway Patrol decided it did not meet all of their criteria, because there was no evidence the girl was in imminent danger. He says Nevaeh Rose Colton was found with her biological father, apparently unharmed....

Dawson says Macon County authorities will take custody of Lambert on Wednesday, and transport him to the county jail. Lambert's cash-only bond for the lone felony count of parental kidnapping is set at $50,000. Lambert's first court appearance could be as early as Thursday.
