MORE COLUMBIA ARRESTS

Columbia Police say three additional men have been arrested after several recent shootings across the city.

19-year-old Aaron Harris and 20-year-old Ahmonta Harris are charged with third degree assault for a February 11th incident which happened before a shooting at Boone Tavern. Detectives say the Harris' assaulted a man at the restaurant before shots were fired. Their bond is set at $25,000 each. 17-year-old Steffon White is charged with a felony count of unlawful use of a weapon. Investigators say White has been identified as a shooter in a January incident at McBaine and Dean. White's bond has been set at $100,000.

The announcement follows Tuesday's arrests of 28-year-old Malcolm Desean Redmon and 18-year-old Channing Taylor Williams. Redmon is also accused of assaulting the man at Boone Tavern before shots were fired. Williams is charged with three felony counts for a separate shooting that happened last week near Banks and Worley. His bond is set at $300,000.

It's unclear whether any of the five are tied specifically to Sunday night's shooting at Columbia's Chuck E. Cheese restaurant. While there have been no serious injuries in the shootings, the community has called on authorities to beef up patrols to solve the crimes. Columbia Police have responded with "proactive patrols" featuring K-9 units, the SWAT team and the street crimes unit. Anyone with information on any of the shootings is asked to call Crimestoppers at (573) 875-TIPS.
