The Missouri Supreme Court will assign a new judge to a case involving a Moberly drug suspect who was arrested in December by local police and the FBI.
39-year-old Jerry Dale Fifer is charged with distribution and possession of a controlled substance and maintaining a public nuisance in Randolph County Circuit Court. He's waived formal arraignment and pleaded "not guilty". Fifer also requested a change of judge, which Judge Scott Hayes granted. The Supreme Court will assign another judge.
Moberly Police and FBI agents arrested Fifer and 45-year-old Sandra Annette Hackett in December. Hackett is charged with possession of a controlled substance and keeping or maintaining a public nuisance. Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 26. Detectives developed information that drugs and stolen televisions and stereos were being kept inside a home in the 1600 block of County Road 2265. Moberly Police, the FBI, the Randolph County Sheriff's Department and the Highway Patrol were involved in the arrests. Investigators allegedly found meth and marijuana inside the home, along with $4,000 in cash and stolen power tools and electronic equipment.
Moberly Police Commander Kevin Palmatory tells GoodRadio the investigation continues.
