A Macon High School trumpet player who performed this month at New York's Carnegie Hall describes her experience as "fabulous and rewarding". 18-year-old Sarah Bond of Excello says she fulfilled her lifelong dream:

The "American High School Honors Performance Series" is designed to challenge elite students to perform at their very best. A Macon teacher nominated Bond, who had to submit a detailed resume and a recording. Bond tells GoodRadio she sat "first chair" at Carnegie Hall, before 2,000 people:

Bond rehearsed and performed at Carnegie under master conductors, and she says the most important thing she learned was the value of teamwork. Macon's service clubs helped her raise money for the trip. Bond thanks the clubs and community for their generosity.
Bond was also recently chosen as the International Trumpet Guild June Young Artist. Only four are selected annually from around the world. She plans to attend God's Bible School and College in Cincinnati.
