LOCALS AT NAIA QUALIFIERS

NAIA wrestling qualifiers were held over the weekend. Missouri Baptist finished second at the East Qualifier, hosted by the University of the Cumberlands. Weston Keleher, of Moberly, made the finals of the 184-pound weight class, before losing for the first time in nearly 19 consecutive matches, in an overtime thriller.

Missouri Valley finished in 3rd place, at the Central Qualifier, Saturday afternoon at Grand View University. Among three Vikings finishing as runner-up, was Jesse Alter of Kirksville, at 197.

The official list of qualifiers for the 55th Annual NAIA Wrestling Championships will be announced on Thursday, February 23. The tournament will take place March 1-3 at the Jacobson Exhibition Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
