CMU 2ND HEART INDOOR TRACK-LOCALS




The Central Methodist track and field teams both finished second over the weekend, at the Heart of America Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Graceland. Baker won both team championships; by 16 points, in the men's standings and by 49.5 points, on the women's side.

Southern Boone graduate Rebeca Barajas was voted the Co-Female Athlete of the Meet and Highest Point Scorer. She won the 60 meter hurdles setting a new school record of 8.6 seconds good for an "A" qualifier for nationals. Barajas also won the long jump and finished second in the high jump.

Kelly Klusmeyer of Boonville finished second in the 60 Meter Hurdles.
Amelia Truex, of Bunceton, took third in the Mile Race.

Barajas, Hailey Breusch, of Moberly, Adrianna Romero and Katie Olvera placed first in the Distance Medley.

On the men's side, Ryan Sherman, of Fayette won the 60 and 200. His time of 22.37 in the 200 Meter Dash set a new school record.
