La Plata hit free throws down the stretch in overtime to hang on for the five point win. Shahan led the scoring effort with 16 along with ten each from Mallroy Eitel and MaKay Belt.
Coach John Weaver's team had already beaten the Lady Rams once this season and he says he knew it'd be another battle...

La Plata's second straight championship in its own tournament pushed its record to 15-3 on the season. Schuyler County fell to 11-8 with the loss.
Canton took the boys title with a thrilling 58-56 win over Green City. Sophomore Brandon Berhorst hit two free throws with under ten seconds left to give the Tigers the lead, but the Gophers had a couple tries to tie the game in the closing moments............

David McReynolds led three Tigers in double figures with 14 points. Canton improved to 14-5 with the win.
Green City got 19 points from Christopher Hoerrmann in dropping just its third game against 17 wins this season.
Brad Roberts had 26 points and 23 rebounds to lead Cairo to a 57-46 decision over LaPlata in the boys third place game. The Bearcats moved to 12-6 with the win. Four of Cairo's losses so far have been by four points or less, and Coach Bob Roberts says it was nice to close out a tight game against a quality team.........

Peyton Swift scored 18 points to pace LaPlata. The Bulldogs dropped to 14-5 on the season.
North Shelby outlasted Madison in the third place game on the girls side with a 36-31 win. Both teams struggled in the first half as the Lady Raiders led just 12-7 at the break.
Rachel Echternacht scored eleven of her 14 in the second half to lead the attack for North Shelby. Coach Joshlin Yoder says it was a great effort from his senior guard...
