Two Hallsville residents suffered serious injuries in an overnight accident on Highway 5 in Howard County.
State troopers say 31-year-old Myles Judy failed to negotiate a turn at Highways 5 and 40. The Patrol says the Lexus traveled off the side of the road, went airborne and overturned. Judy, who was wearing a seatbelt, was ejected. He and his passenger, 29-year-old Jeanette Smith, sustained serious injuries and were lifeflighted to University Hospital in Columbia.
Judy faces three charges from the Highway Patrol, including Careless and Imprudent Driving, and Driving While Intoxicated.
The accident happened at about 1:55 Friday morning.
