The Lady Blues had a big first half and the Ichabods a dominant second half and it added up to a Washburn sweep of the Truman teams, at Pershing Arena, Wednesday night.
The 11th ranked Lady Blues built an 18-point first half lead, on 58-percent shooting, then held off the late charging Bulldogs 67-to-59. Truman's Breanna Daniels led all scorers, with 18, and tried to bring the Bulldogs back....

Truman outscored the Lady Blues 32-24 in the second half, but could only get as close as six. Bulldog coach Michael Smith says they played better defense, after halftime....
Seton Hall transfer Ebonie Williams led Washburn with 16. The Lady Blues won their tenth in a row, to improve to 19-and-3 and 12-and-1 in the MIAA. The Bulldog women fall to 11-and-8 and 6-8, in seventh place, in the conference.
In the men's game, Washburn held Truman to 16 second half points and beat the Bulldogs 66-to-45. Zach Riggins had a career high 14 and Will McNeill chipped in 13, to keep the Ichabods in third place, in the MIAA, at 9-and-4.
The Bulldogs cut a ten point deficit to three at halftime. Washburn switched to a press and zone in the second half and squeezed the life out of Matt Woodley's offense....
The 'Dogs shot under 27-percent in the second half. Isaac Gardner connected on four treys and finished with 14-points. The Bulldogs are still tied for eighth in the MIAA, at 4-and-10, and drop to 6-and-15 overall. Washburn improves to 15-and-6.
