GAWLIK REVOKED

A Kirksville man accused of stealing two lawn mowers from a trailer parked at a Wendy's is behind bars, after testing positive for controlled substances.

32-year-old Jesse Gawlik is charged with two counts of burglary and two counts of second degree assault in Adair County Circuit Court. County Prosecutor Matt Wilson tells GoodRadio Gawlik appeared this week before Judge Russell Steele:

A second suspect, 34-year-old Mark Clark, is charged with theft/stealing and receiving stolen property. Clark is out on bond.

The Kirksville Police Department's probable cause statement says both men admit stealing a trailer and two lawn mowers. The statement says Gawlik and Clark also admit selling the items to a Brashear company for scrap. Detectives say one lawn mower is valued at $6,000 and the other at $400. Both men will appear again in court on March 6.
