The Kirksville boys got some revenge on Tuesday night, beating rival Moberly 55-42. The Tigers had lost their previous two meetings with the Spartans this season, prior to the home win last night on KRES.
Moberly played the game without Rashaun Smith, who has a foot injury, and with Smith out the Tigers focused their defense on shutting down Spartans leading scorer Cory Briggs. Mission accomplished. Briggs was held to just seven points, 12 below his season average.
Tigers Coach Tyler Martin said his team answered the call to contain Moberly's main offensive threat........

Kirksville's Tyson Grgurich guarded Briggs most of the night, and in addition to fine work at the defensive end, the junior scored a game high 19 points. Nathan Lamp had 14 for the Tigers and Nathan Farnsworth chipped in 11.
Moberly Coach Mark Anderson didn't see much to like from his team's performance...........

Freshman Tanner Wetrich led the Spartans in scoring with 15. Moberly dropped to 13-6 overall and 4-3 in the NCMC. They will host league leader Hannibal on Friday night. The Spartans also hope to have the injured Smith back sometime next week.
The victory moved Kirksville to 7-12 overall and 2-6 in the conference. The Tigers host Mexico on Friday.
