A Kirksville woman who admits operating a meth lab just 900 feet from the Truman State University campus has been sentenced to probation. 41-year-old Charlotte Lang pleaded guilty to manufacturing and possession of a controlled substance in Adair County Circuit Court. County Prosecutor Matt Wilson argued for prison time. Wilson tells GoodRadio Judge Russell Steele sentenced Lang to seven years in prison, but suspended the execution of sentence and placed Lang on five years probation:

The Kirksville Police Department's probable cause statement says the lab was in an apartment in the 300 block of High Street. Wilson says detectives had the apartment under surveillance because of reports of possible drug activity. He says two others, 25-year-old Timothy Parrish and 27-year-old Christopher Lake, face similar charges:
