Parents as Teachers began as a pilot project in Missouri in 1984, an idea that was pushed by then-Governor Kit Bond. The Mexico Republican worked closely with then-State Sen. Harry Wiggins, D-Kansas City, to advocate for the program, which is now a national project.

You can contact Ms. Berding for additional information at (660) 269-2624.
