MOBERLY BURN BAN IN FORCE



Due to the extremely dry conditions from the lack of substantial rain over the last month and the predicted continuance of
this hot and dry weather pattern for an extended period, Moberly Fire Chief Robert Creed has issued an open burning ban
within the city of Moberly beginning Tuesday, June 26, and will remain in effect until further notice.

Moberly City Code states that the Chief of the Fire Department may prohibit any and all open
burning where atmospheric conditions or local circumstances make such fires hazardous.

Chief Creed says there are penalties in place for those who choose to ignore the ban....

Creed also says that second and third offenses will require the violator to appear in court.

This open burn ban includes yard waste fires and open cooking and/or recreation fires such as fire pits, bon fires, burn
barrels, and any other open burning which is normally allowed. However, there are exceptions:

Moberly Fire Department Chief Robert Creed who reminds citizens that it is against Moberly City Code to burn trash,
refuse, paper prodcucts, or building materials at ANY time.
