ROSSINI'S CINDERELLA IN CHILLICOTHE


The Des Moines Metro Opera touring troupe will present Rossini's Cinderella at the Gary Dickinson Performing Arts Center in Chillicothe Friday, April 24th at 7pm. The box office opens at 6pm, and the doors open at 6:30. Tickets are $15 for adults, and $7 for students.  Season ticket holders will be admitted with their season tickets.  Group pricing is available for student groups.  For more information, call 660-646-1173.

VBS CLINIC


Crossroads Baptist Association will hold its annual VBS Clinic on Saturday, April 25th at Moberly First Baptist Church from 8:30am-12:15pm.

RANDOLPH AREA YMCA HEALTHY COMMUNITY DAY


The Randolph Area YMCA invites you to a day of free activities and opportunities to learn about health-related community services and agencies on Saturday, April 25th from 10am-1pm. There will be free food, informational booths from local resources, a bounce house, face painting, and pony rides. OPEN ARMS BAPTIST CHURCH WOMEN'S RETREAT


Open Arms Baptist Church will sponsor a women's retreat Saturday, April 25th at the Macon Expo Center from 10am-2pm. The guest speaker is Karen Dye. MOBERLY LDRL MOVIE SCREENING


Little Dixie Library in Moberly will show the movie "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day" on Saturday, April 25th at 1pm. It is free. Kids are encougared to attend. Refreshments will be served.

NORTHEAST R-14 BOOSTER CLUB GOLF TOURNAMENT


The Northeast R-IV All Sports Booster Club will host its first golf tournament on Saturday, April 25th at Heritage Hills Golf Course in Moberly. The cost is $50 per player, or $200 for a four person team.

NOVINGER TOWN-WIDE YARD SALE


A town-wide yard sale will be held in Novinger on Saturday, April 25th beginning at 8:00 a.m.  There will also be multifamily sales at the Community Center, along with homemade cinnamon rolls and sandwiches.

STEVE MCQUEEN DAY


Steve McQueen Day is Saturday, April 25th in Slater. The highlight is the car show. Registration will take place from 9-noon. The trophy presentation will take place at 3pm.

CAIRO ALUMNI REUNION


Cairo's 12th Alumni Reunion will be held at the school on Saturday, April 25th. Alumni, former students, faculty, and administrators are asked to have their reservations made as soon as possible. Doors open at 4pm and the evening concludes with a business meeting at 7:30pm in the high school auditorium. The price is $15 per person. The graduates from classes 1961, 1962, 1963, 1964 and 1965 will receive special recognition.

BROOKFIELD DADDY-DAUGHTER DANCE


The Brookfield PTO is sponsoring a Daddy-Daughter Dance on Saturday, April 25th in the Elementary/Middle School gym from 6-9pm. It is open to all dads, grandpa's, uncles, big brothers, cousins, basically anyone who has a little princess or princesses that would like to attend. The theme is 'The Great Gatsby'. THE KID AND KATE'S WESTERN WEDDING


Carousel Productions will present "The Kid and Kate's Western Wedding" April 16-18 and 23-25 at the Event Center at Shoemakers RV Park in Bevier. Each evening, this interactive production will include the show, dinner and dance. Tickets are $22 and are available in advance at many Macon locations and also the Moberly Area Chamber of Commerce. MACON CO REPUBLICANS LINCOLN DAY DINNER


The Macon County Republicans will host their annual Lincoln Day Dinner Saturday, April 25th at the Callao Christian Church's Family Life Center. Doors will open for a social at 5:30pm and the prime rib banquet will begin at 6pm. Featured speakers will include Missouri Senator Will Kraus and Representative Paul Curtman. Tickets for the banquet are $30 and reservations are requested by Tuesday, April 21st.

KNOX COUNTY 5K


The Knox County 5K will be held in Edina this Saturday, April 25th, starting at 9am. Following the 5K, Color Explosion and Contest Judging will be held at Miller Park. This is an event for the entire family.  For more information call 660-397-2196.    

CHRISTIAN PATRIOTS, ARISE!


There will be a 'Christian Patriots, Arise!' Assembly in Columbia this Saturday, April 25th at the Columbia Activity and Recreation Center, located at 1701 West Ash Street from 1:30-4pm.  This is a free event, open to the public and is a time of encouragement and Biblical teaching for patriots who stand to honor God rather than men. 

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS COUNTRY HAM BREAKFAST


Plan to attend the Knights of Columbus Country Ham Breakfast on Sunday, April 26th from 8-11am at the St. Pius X Church Undercroft in Moberly.  They will be serving country ham, sausage, eggs, hash browns, biscuits and gravy, juice and coffee.  Ages 13 and up are $8 per person.  Children 6-12 are $5 and children 5 and under are free.

CBA MISSION MEETING

MINOR HILL SWAP MEET FLEA MARKET

BROOKFIELD CHAMBER BANQUET


The Brookfield Chamber of Commerce will have its banquet Monday night at the Brickhouse Restaurant. Doors open at 5:30 and dinner starts at six. Tickets are $25 each at the Chamber office or at the door.

MOBERLY FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY ANNUAL MEETING


The Moberly Friends of the Library annual meeting is Thursday, April 30th at 6pm. The program will be presented by Columbia author Svetlana Grobman, who is a Jewish immigrant from Russia. She will discuss her first book "The Education of a Traitor".

MAIN STREET MOBERLY RELAY FOR LIFE FUNDRAISER


Main Street Moberly will host a fundraiser for Relay for Life April 30th at Stroke of Magic in downtown Moberly.  The event begins at 6pm and includes a yoga fashion show, canvas painting, and a book signing by Kimber Reese, author of "Happy Food Cookbook."  Tickets are $25 per person and are available at Stroke of Magic or the Main Street Moberly office.  For more information, visit www.astrokeofmagic.com, or call 660-372-5000.

CHURCH WOMEN UNITED MEETING


The May meeting of Church Women United will be Friday, May 1st, at Second Missionary Baptist Church on North Fifth Street in Moberly. Start time is 9am. A four-dollar donation is requested. For reservations, call 660-372-1239 by Wednesday, the 29th. The program will be "Journey of the Caregiver" and the local project is the medicine fund for MRMC. Church dues will be collected at the meeting.

HUNTSVILLE LIONS CLUB FISH FRY


The Huntsville Lions Club will be having a Fish Fry on Saturday, May 2nd in downtown Huntsville starting at 11am. The menu includes deep fried catfish, hush puppies, potatoes, coleslaw and baked beans. Meals are carry-out only, and cost $7.50 per person. The proceeds will go to community projects.

TRI-COUNTY CHRISTIAN SCHOOL MAY DAY FESTIVAL


Tri-County Christian School in Macon will hosts its annual May Day Festival on Saturday, May 2nd from 10am-3pm. There will be several games and contests, live and silent auctions, a baby show, a talent show and more.

MOBERLY COMMUNITY KITCHEN FUNDRAISER


The Moberly Community Kitchen spring fundraiser will be Monday, May 4th from 11am-1:30pm. The menu includes broccoli, cheese and ham soup. The cost of the meal is $7 and proceeds will help with the replacement of the roof at the facility. You may eat in, carry out, or there will be delivery with the city limits. RANDOLPH AREA YMCA BALLROOM DANCING LESSONS


The Randolph Area YMCA invites you to sign up for ballroom dancing lessons. Private and semi-private lessons are available for singles and couples with instructor Milton Bolzendahl, who specializes in Viennese Waltz, Slow Waltz, Foxtrot, Quickstep, and Tango. The cost is $20 for members or $80 dollars for non-members for six hour-long private lessons or twelve hour-long semi-private lessons.
