CLASSIC COUNTRY CONCERT AT VANDALIA ON SATURDAY


Dance to music by the Butch Griffin Country Classic Band at the Vandalia VFW Post Saturday from 7 to 10:30 p.m.  Admission is six dollars per person.

DONATIONS REQUESTED FOR LOCAL FIRE VICTIMS


A local family lost nearly everything in a storage shed fire recently. It is looking for donations of clothing **(girls jr size 16 pants/shorts, large shirts, 8 1/2 size shoes) (9y/o girl: girls size 12-14 pants/shorts, size 10-14 shirts, children's size 13+ shoes) (Women's: Size 14 pants, large shirts, size 8-8 1/2 wide shoes) (Men's: size 36 pants/shorts, xl shirts, size 11 shoes)**, cash donations, dog food, gas cards, and anything else to help rebuild. Donations can be left at the North Park Baptist Chuch in Moberly at 401 Franklin Avenue. You can also call the church at 263-1003.

HOSPICE MEMORIAL SERVICE IN MOBERLY ON MONDAY


Home Care of Mid-Missouri Hospice will hold a Memorial Service and Balloon Release at 5pm on Monday, at its training center on Clark Street in Moberly. The free service will honor hospice patients who have died in the last year.

CAR WASH AND BAKE SALE IN ATLANTA ON SATURDAY


The Atlanta girls basketball team will have a car wash and bake sale Saturday to raise money for camps this summer. It will take place in Atlanta at Atterberry Park from 9am to 1pm.

BENEFIT GOLF TOURNAMENT IN CLARK ON SATURDAY


Centralia Friends of the Park is holding a Four Man Scramble at Windmill Golf Course on Saturday. Registration is at 8am. Tee-Off is 9am. Proceeds go to the Centralia Parks and Rec Department.

INSPIRATIONAL SPEAKER AT MOBERLY ON SUNDAY


Sunday at 6:30 p.m., Glad Tidings Assembly of God in Moberly will provide the public an opportunity to hear the inspirational story of KC Kopaska. He is a veteran missionary to Native Americans and will tell his story of overcoming severe burn injuries, years of substance abuse, and the emotional damage from an abusive parent.

DEPARTMENT OF CONSERVATION EVENT IN KIRKSVILLE ON SATURDAY


The Missouri Department of Conservation is having a Nature Safety Day, where the department will talk about the importance of staying safe while spending time outdoors. This event is on Saturday from 2-3pm at the Regional Office on South Baltimore in Kirksville. This event is free no with no registration needed, and all families are encourged to come.

BENEFIT SPAGHETTI DINNER IN MOBERLY ON SATURDAY


An all-you-can-eat benefit spaghetti dinner for the "Moose" Robertson family will be held at Felicia's Restaurant on Highway JJ in Moberly Saturday, from 4 to 7 p.m.  Proceeds will go to medical and funeral expenses.

SALT RIVER EXPO AT MARK TWAIN LAKE THIS WEEKEND


Salt River Expo 2012 will be Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at the Warren G. See access area just below the dam at Mark Twain Lake.

GOLF CAMP IN MOBERLY LATER THIS MONTH


Moberly Spartan Golf Camp will be held May 21st-24th, at the practice range on the school campus and at the two local golf courses. This is for 3rd through 12 grades, for the 2012-13 school year. Grades 7 through 12 will have camp from 7-10am and grade 3-6 from 10:30-1:00. The fee is 35-dollars. Return entry forms to the Moberly Central Office.

RETIREMENT RECEPTION IN MOBERLY ON FRIDAY


A retirement reception for Moberly Police commander Kevin Palmatory will be held Friday from 3-5:00pm at the police station, celebrating his 31 years of service.
