Caramelize 1/2 cup of sugar in a heavy skillet, stirring until melted and golden brown; add 2 cups of boiling water slowly and 2 tbsp butter and a cup of sugar; simmer for about 10 minutes (will all be dissolved)
Make the dumplings....
cup and a half of flour
2 tsp baking powder
2 tbsp butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup milk
1/2 tsp salt
Cream the butter and sugar, mix the flour and baking powder together and add the flour/baking powder mixture alternately with the milk; pour salt in a large baking dish (8 by 11), drop the dumplings by heaping tablespoon full in the hot sauce. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.
1 cup (white) sugar
1 cup butter (not oleo)
Boil this for 2-3 minutes.
Line your cookie sheet with foil and lay your graham crackers on that; pour your sugar/butter mixture over the graham crackers to cover; sprinkle (uses 1/2 to a cup) chopped pecans on top; put in the oven and bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees...let them cool, break them apart.
