The Kirksville Fire and Police Departments are teaming up for their annual Battle of the Badges Blood Drive to be held May 27th from noon to 6pm at the NEMO Fairgrounds in Kirksville. Each department will be competing to see who can recruit the most blood donors. This is the 15th consecutive year this blood drive has been held. This year’s drive will take on a personal note as it will be held in honor of former Kirksville Police Chief Steve Farnsworth, who died unexpectedly on October 11th. Those who give blood at this year’s blood drive will be automatically entered for a chance to win a travel trailer camper. Over 1,000 blood donations have been collected over the past 14 years at the Kirksville Battle of the Badges Blood Drive.
