Execution Date Set For Tisius

The Supreme Court of Missouri has set an execution date for Michael Tisius. The man convicted of two counts of murder in the shooting deaths of two Randolph County jailers is scheduled to be executed on June 6th of this year.

Tisius was found guilty of two counts of murder in the deaths of Leon Egley and Jason Acton in Boone County Circuit Court over 12 years ago, on September 27th, 2010. The incident occurred in 2000 during a botched attempt to free another inmate. The punishment of death was fixed to each murder charge.

The Supreme Court of the United States declined to hear Tisius’ last appeal on October 3, 2022 and the state filed a motion to set the execution date.
